Authenticity

How do I know if an item is hand-signed?

At SoccerSignings, all items are hand-signed. You can tell this by how the marker pen is visible on the shirt, but primarily by the certificate of authenticity that guarantees its authenticity.

Every shirt comes with a certificate of authenticity, which in most cases includes photo and/or video evidence. This shows the player in question signing the item.

Should an item not come with our own certificate, it will include a certificate of authenticity issued by Beckett, PSA/DNA, Exclusive Memorabilia, or A1 Sporting Speakers.

These are the largest and most reliable certificates in the memorabilia world.

What is Beckett?

Beckett is a third party that verifies signatures on shirts, balls, photos, and goalkeeper gloves. Because the market for signed football memorabilia is unfortunately rife with fakes, Beckett acts as the independent referee.

  • Authentication: Experts compare the signature (for example, of Messi, Ronaldo, or Pelé) with a massive database of known, genuine examples. They pay attention to ink flow, pressure points, and the natural 'flow' of the pen.
  • Certification: If the signature is deemed authentic, the item receives a unique serial number, a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), and often an invisible ink marking or a hologram sticker.
  • Valuation: A shirt with a Beckett hallmark is immediately more valuable and easier to sell, as the buyer has the guarantee that the scribble was not made by a fan or a machine.

Beckett has two variants of their certificates:

1. Beckett Authenticated (Post-signing Examination)

This is the most common form of certification. It means that someone has sent a signed item (for example, a shirt that has been in the closet for years) to Beckett for examination.

  • The process: Beckett's experts examine the signature retrospectively. They use their database and experience to determine if the scribble matches the player's known style.
  • The conclusion: "Based on our examination, we believe this signature is authentic."
  • Certainty: Very high, but it remains an expert opinion on a signature they did not witness being made.

2. Beckett Witnessed (Witnessed at the Time of Signing)

This is the "holy grail" for collectors. This label is only given if an official Beckett employee was physically present at the moment the player signed the item.

  • The process: During an official signing session (for example, an event with Erling Haaland), the Beckett representative stands next to the player. As soon as the signature is made, the employee immediately applies a hologram.
  • The conclusion: "We have seen with our own eyes that this player signed this specific item."
  • Certainty: 100%. There is no room for doubt or discussion about authenticity, as the chain of evidence has never been broken.
Are all shirts authentic?

In most cases, we work with original shirts. Should this not be the case, we will clearly state this on the product page.

A Netherlands 1988 home shirt, for example, is a replica shirt, because the shirt is too old and too exclusive to obtain original in larger quantities.

Delivery

What is the processing time for my order?

Ordered before 5 PM? Your item will be shipped the same day. This applies only on business days (Monday - Friday). Weekend orders will be processed on the next business day.

How long does it take to frame a shirt?

If you wish to frame your own shirt or order a shirt with a framing option, it will take a maximum of 5-7 working days for the product to be framed.

As all our items are custom framed professionally, this takes several working days and cannot be done immediately while you wait or right after the order.

Can I return my item?

We can barely imagine that you won't be satisfied with your purchase, but if this is the case, you can return your item within 14 days without stating a reason.

The general terms and conditions apply to this.

Framing

Can I have my own shirt framed?

Yes, we'd be happy to help! We professionally frame every shirt completely custom for you. We can take all your wishes and specifications into account and make it exactly as you want it.

In addition to football items, we also frame other items, such as football boots, boxing gloves, and F1 caps.

All sizes are possible, from children's sizes to 4XL.

What is the quality of your lists?

We call our frames premium frames. We are currently the only ones in the memorabilia sector who have handmade frames of this quality.

The shirt is stretched (with special tape and no pins like other companies) onto a cardboard backing and placed on a black 100% acid-free cardboard mat. Thanks to its size of 90 x 70 centimeters, the shirt almost always gets a "floating" effect. There is space between the edges of the frame and the shirt, which creates a beautiful effect. The edges of our frames are made of wood, which are cut and glued to size. To protect the shirt, all our frames are fitted with 100% clear glass with a UV filter, which protects the shirt from discoloration and allows it to be admired perfectly.

Specifications:
- Size: 90 (Length) x 70 (Width) centimeters.
- Glass: 100% clear glass with UV Filter.
- Frame type: Wood
- Frame color: Black
- Hanging system: Hanging wire

Your shirt should not only be an eye-catcher on the wall, but also offer optimal protection against sun, dirt, and moisture.
